Often when booting from a Live Backtrack 5 (KDE) edition I have encountered that the GUI wicd Network Manager won’t start.
The massage was like this:
When this error occurs you can easily use the command line to select and connect to desirable network but I will write a guide about that in my next post:)
The other thing you can do, is to fix this wicd error. Simply write this commands into the command line.
dpkg-reconfigure wicd
update-rc.d wicd defaults
Now just reboot your Backtrack OS and the error should be gone.
